Few things are more frustrating than asking a client to manage multiple logins. That used to be the case when a single client was part of multiple companies or entities you served. Maybe you do personal taxes and business taxes for a client. Or maybe your client represents multiple brands or businesses that you manage.
With multi-company clients, that friction is gone. Your clients now get one login —and can seamlessly access all the companies they’re associated with.
In the Assembly Dashboard, internal users can now assign up to 30 companies to a single client. On the CRM > Clients page, this is shown visually for easy reference. To add or update company assignments, go to the Client Details page and add additional companies on the sidebar.

In your client portal, clients assigned to multiple companies now see a new primary sidebar that lets them switch between companies. This sidebar also surfaces cross-company notifications, so clients know when they need to switch companies to take action.

How assignment works
You can still assign things (like an invoice, contract, form, or task) to companies and clients. But now, when you assign to clients, you may see the same client appear multiple times in drop-downs — once per company they’re part of. This is necessary because the platform needs to know which company the assignment belongs to.

Companies don’t have to actually be “companies”
Companies are simply a way to group clients and separate their information. Use them however works best for your business.
